Android app terms of use
Last updated: 27 October 2026. This text applies to the app Hekether.
1. Scope and who you contract with
These terms govern your use of the app Hekether. The app is provided by Ankarina OÜ, osaühing (OÜ), Estonian private limited company, Sepapaja tn 6, Lasnamäe linnaosa, 15551 Tallinn, Estonia, represented by its management board member (juhatuse liige) Anna Lippmann, which is also your contracting party for using it. Register: Estonian Commercial Register (Äriregister), registry code 17549227. Email: [email protected], phone: +49 176 11361289. Referred to below as "the provider".
Who sells you a purchase in the app depends on your country and your store. The section on purchases explains this.
2. What the app does
Hekether is a companion for Wicca and witchcraft. The app shows you moon phases, sabbats, esbats and the Wheel of the Year with a calendar, plus rituals with steps, tools for spellcraft and tarot as symbolic reflection, kitchen magic recipes, your own recipes, herb lore with safety notes, a grimoire for your entries with photos and voice notes, an ancestor book, reminders, a home screen widget and a library with sources. The app calculates and stores everything on your device. The timed access unlocks the practice tools, all rituals, the full grimoire, unlimited own recipes, the whole grimoire as PDF and the annual book, the whole library with teaching cards and information paths, your own card pictures and meanings for your tarot deck, the card statistics, the calendar for the whole year with eclipses and all sounds; without a purchase you keep the daily tarot card, the moon phase with the moon widget, the calendar for the current month, 5 grimoire entries, 5 own recipes, 10 library entries, 1 sound, all safety notes, the PDF export of single grimoire entries and the data backup.
This section describes what the app does. It does not take away any rights you have if the app is defective.
The app shows you before any purchase which features you can use without a purchase and which a purchase unlocks. The rules of the store you got the app from also apply to its use.
3. Licence
When you install the app, you receive a simple, non-transferable right to use it for private purposes on your devices linked to the account you downloaded it with (Google account). You may not modify, decompile, resell, rent out or make the app available to third parties unless the law permits it. The app checks on the device whether it is an unmodified copy from Google Play. A modified copy cannot be used. It then only shows how to back up your data and get Hekether from Google Play.
4. Your data
What you enter in the app is stored only on your device. The provider cannot access it and cannot restore it. If you delete the app or change devices, the data is gone unless you have backed it up. Back up whatever matters to you. The privacy policy has the details.
5. Health notice
Hekether is not a medical device. The app makes no diagnosis and does not replace medical care. If you have new or severe symptoms, see a doctor.
For herbs, chakra work, breathing exercises and kitchen magic, the app names what tradition records for them and warns of known risks, also based on your safety profile. That is not a recommendation for you and no promise of an effect. Amounts and notes do not replace medical advice; during pregnancy, illness or when taking medication, the question belongs with a doctor.
6. Age limit
This app is intended for people aged 18 and over. The provider rates it in the store for people aged 18 and over.
Purchases in the app require an age of 18 or over.
If your device offers the check (Android with a current Google Play) and your store offers it in your country, the app asks the store whether your store account reports an age under 18. If it does, the app is blocked. What you have saved in the app stays on the device. The app asks again after every restart and does not store the result. Older systems do not offer this check; the app then runs without it.
7. Purchases through Google Play
Who sells. In these countries the seller is Google Commerce Limited, 70 Sir John Rogerson's Quay, Dublin 2, D02 R296, Ireland: EEA, Åland, Faroe Islands, Greenland, Svalbard and Jan Mayen, Ceuta, Melilla and the Canary Islands, French overseas territories except the French Southern and Antarctic Lands, Monaco, San Marino, Vatican City, Gibraltar, United Kingdom. In all other countries the provider is the seller; there Google offers the app on its behalf, and payment goes through your Google Account. The app shows you who the seller is above the purchase button before you buy. The app and Google Play show you the price in your currency before you buy.
When Google Commerce Limited is the seller. Purchase, payment, invoicing, withdrawal and refunds run through Google Play. The contracting party for the purchase is Google Commerce Limited, not the provider. The Google Play Terms of Service and the Google Play refund policy also apply. Where the terms set out here are more favourable to you, they prevail over Google Play's. Whether you have a statutory right of withdrawal and when it ends is determined by law. You must declare a withdrawal to Google Play, and how Google Play handles it is set out in its terms. One way to do this is a refund request at Google Play. The rules on withdrawal are in section 3 of the Google Play Terms of Service. The provider issues no withdrawal notice and no withdrawal form of its own. How to do it: in the app via "Request a refund or withdrawal", or in Google Play via your profile picture, "Payments and subscriptions", then "Budget and history" to request a refund, or via the refund page of Google Play Help (https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637). A message to the provider does not replace your declaration to Google Play. If you write to the provider anyway, it will point you to the right place. For technical questions and defects in the app, the provider is your contact.
When the provider is the seller. The provider is then your contracting party for the purchase and your contact for withdrawal, refunds and defects. Google Play's terms also apply to the payment. To request a refund, use "Request a refund or withdrawal" in the app; the app prepares an email to [email protected] for you. You can also write to that address directly. The provider reviews the request, replies to you and arranges a refund through Google Play where you are entitled to one or the provider grants it. Any rights you have against the seller under the law of your country remain unaffected.
8. Time-limited access
Time-limited access gives you the right to use the unlocked features for 1 year, with the store account you bought it with. The term starts when you buy. You pay once, when you buy.
Time-limited access does not renew. It ends by itself at the end of the term, you do not need to cancel, and nothing is charged automatically. Even if the store lists it as a subscription, it does not renew. While a time-limited access is running, you cannot buy another one. If you want to keep using the features after that, that is a new purchase. The app shows you until when your access is valid.
On another device or after reinstalling, the app restores the purchase from the store. Which updates you receive is set out in "Updates and changes".
After the end, everything you have created stays on the device. The features of the access are then locked. The limits of the app without a purchase apply again.
9. Purchases in Brazil through Google Play
If you buy in Brazil, the provider is the seller. You can withdraw from the purchase within 7 days of buying, without giving a reason (Art. 49 Código de Defesa do Consumidor). To do so, tap "Withdraw purchase" in the app. The app prepares an email to [email protected]. The provider confirms receipt by email and arranges a refund of the full amount through Google Play without delay.
10. Updates and changes
The provider supplies the updates needed to keep the app secure and in line with the contract for as long as you can reasonably expect given the nature and purpose of the app. The store tells you when updates are available. If an update is needed for security or to keep the app in line with the contract, the update description in the store says so. The provider does not call an update necessary if it only improves features. If an update makes your use of the app worse, the description says that too. If you do not install an update within a reasonable time although you were told about it and what happens if you skip it, the provider is not liable for defects caused solely by the missing update. Report security vulnerabilities to [email protected] with the subject line "Security".
The provider changes features only for a valid reason, such as security, new operating system versions, changes to store policies or further development, and at no extra cost. It tells you in advance what changes, when, and that you can end the contract, in the app as text you can save or share, and in the store listing. If such a change affects your use more than marginally, you can end the contract free of charge within 30 days. The period starts with the notice or, if the change takes effect later, with the change.
If the provider discontinues the app, it announces this in the app at least 6 months in advance. If a period you have already paid for extends beyond the discontinuation, you are entitled to the part after it. For purchases through Google Play, the provider refunds it via Google Play. Your statutory claims, including those against the provider, and your rights from purchases you have already paid for remain in place.
For time-limited access, the provider supplies the necessary updates throughout the paid access period. If it discontinues the app, the paragraph on discontinuation also applies to time-limited access: from the announcement on, it sells no new access, and if access you have already paid for extends beyond the discontinuation, you are entitled to the part after it.
11. Defects and liability
The statutory warranty rules for digital products apply to the app. If the app is defective, you have the statutory rights that the law of your country gives you. These terms do not limit them. Statutory guarantees and warranty rights that cannot be excluded remain in place. The provider gives no additional guarantee of its own.
The provider is liable without limit for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. To the extent the law that applies to you allows it, the provider is liable for slight negligence only where it breaches an essential obligation, meaning an obligation that must be met for the contract to be performed properly at all and on which you may regularly rely, and then only up to the damage that was foreseeable when the contract was made and is typical for this kind of contract. Liability that the law makes mandatory, for example for defective products, remains unaffected.
12. Changes to these terms
The provider may change these terms where a change in the law or a change to store policies requires it. It does not change the scope of the service, the price or the term this way. The provider tells you about a change in the app 30 to 60 days before it takes effect, with the new wording and a note on your right to object and what follows from it. You may object until the change takes effect. If you object, the current terms continue to apply, and you can end the contract free of charge as of the date the change takes effect.
13. Applicable law and language
These terms contain no choice of law. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you habitually reside always apply, and nothing in these terms limits them.
For purchases where Ankarina OÜ is the seller, the language version in which the purchase details were shown to you applies. If versions differ, the interpretation more favourable to you applies. Only where the store is the seller is the German version the binding one, unless the translation is more favourable to you.
14. Complaints and dispute resolution
Send complaints to [email protected]. The provider answers within 15 days (section 24(5) of the Estonian Consumer Protection Act, Tarbijakaitseseadus). If you buy in Brazil, the provider answers within 5 days instead and confirms receipt immediately (Art. 4 items V and VI and sole paragraph of Decreto 7.962/2013).
If no agreement is reached, you can turn to the Consumer Disputes Committee (Tarbijavaidluste komisjon) at the Estonian Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (TTJA): Endla 10A, 10122 Tallinn, Estonia, email [email protected], website https://ttja.ee/tarbijavaidluste-komisjon. The committee's rules of procedure are published on its website. The procedure carries no fees; you bear your own costs, such as translations. Applications are filed in Estonian; the European Consumer Centre in your country of residence can help you with this. The provider takes part in proceedings before this committee. It does not take part in proceedings before any other consumer dispute resolution body.
These terms contain no arbitration clause and no class action waiver. Your right to go to court remains unaffected.
